CivilWarLAN is a LAN Party hosted at both the University of Oregon and Oregon State University with the locations being connected through the high speed NERO network.

UO and OSU players will essentially be on one local network and the 400 players will be able to game with each other at low latency, even though they will be 50 miles apart.

CivilWarLAN will feature an interactive video wall so gamers can meet each other face-to-face, web cams that will broadcast what is happening at each location, free swag, snacks and 24 hours of nonstop gaming of every kind.

CivilWarLAN is a collaboration between students and numerous departments at both the UO and OSU. It is an alcohol and drug-free event.

Love gaming but feel more at home with a console? This time around Civil War LAN will feature an enhanced console gaming experience! In addition to the general admission price we are offering a $5 discount for people only coming to play console games. This discount will not reserve you table space or power outlets, but it will grant you 24-hour access to our expanded line-up of console games and tournaments.

You will need to bring the following items with you to the CivilWarLAN:

• 20' Ethernet Cable
• Games
• Friends

We will have a limited number of ethernet cables and mouse pads available for those who have forgotten them, but please bring your own if you can.

• Original Game Media [make yourself a copy]
• Pornography
• Alcoholic Beverages
• Drugs/Fireworks/etc.
• Mini Fridges

The CivilWarLAN is a community-oriented event and as such it is important to consider your neighbors.

Before you arrive at the event, please make sure that your computer is properly patched and has up to date anti-virus software, otherwise you may inadvertently infect other users when you plug into the NERO network. Staff members will be on hand to assist you with this if you have any questions.

Please do your part to keep the event clean by putting your trash in the proper receptacles and taking care of any spills you may encounter.

CivilWarLAN is all about bringing people together who have a passion for video games and technology. Remember that the staff is there to make sure that everyone has fun so don‘t feel shy about asking them any questions you may have.
